Fantastic Folds: First Decks

The return of both Brady and Scott's unapologetic grumpiness at tough beats. Poker's back, baby, and this time, it's After Dark!

An atypical late start for the table this round, but the wait was worth it as 8 PM Pacific brought Brady back into the fold. Outside of the return of our tall king, we had five regulars who made up the table's Ridiculous Six (2015). While Brady did bring his signature betting 80 as a Button Raise, for the most part, the chaos was pretty manageable. No huge beats, except for all the ones against Scott, and no huge losses, except for Scott. Just five folks having a fun night of poker that included Scott.

The story of the evening happened to be Eve, who struggled a bit in the first hour, dropping down to six dollars, but went on a tear in the last thirty, which brought her to chip leader total. A true honor for any interim mayor of Check City.

Outside of poker, we talked Superman, Fantastic Four men, and our favorite Batmen. Michael Keaton was the crowd favorite, but the power of Christian compels Eve, so Bale's her favorite. Also, most folks at the table are big fans of The Naked Gun (1988) but not Seth MacFarlane (1973). What a turbulent 2025 indeed.

Keith introduced the family to his new dog, who is very adorable, and Josh introduced the family to his new hat, which is adorable. Both boys should never leave the house without either, and we should encourage them to keep this habit.

In bittersweet news, Eve has officially retired from Cine2Nerdle, but she went out on top. Like a true Hollywood ending, she'll forever be the hero Cine2Nerdle deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So they'll hunt her, because she can take it. Because she's not our hero, she's a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a Cine2Nerdle.
