Flop Gun

Updated: Oct 21, 2021

A smaller crowd made for a tighter game. The Crew was slim this week but the fun was fat and happy. Brady walked away the big winner although Scott was not too far behind. Generally speaking, it was oddly gentlemanly at the table. No huge bluffs. No giant all-in smack downs. Pretty much, we were all afraid to die tonight and it showed.

Outside of poker The Crew talked recent horror release Malignant and boy howdy did Scotty recommend this. Which probably means it's bad, or divisive, or both. So take that with a grain of salt. We also ranked our favorite Coen Brothers movies and while Chris and Rob were both correct in putting Inside Llewyn Davis as their number one and Brady admirably favoring No Country for Old Men, Scott unsurprisingly picked Barton Fink as his champion. Truly the Spider-Man 3 of the Coen-Verse.

Also Chris' excellent overhead lightning finally gave us the CB album cover we've been craving.

In addition, we all gave Matt Vass some investment tips. Which was mostly all of us agreeing for him to wait ask Martin when he's back so he can explain how Bitcoin work. After a quiet night of low stakes poker and polite conversation came to an end, Chris broke the rules and spirit of Check City. However, he made us promise not to tell since there were so few at the table. So mums the word everyone.

Chip Leader: Brady
